About

Inspired by children.
Changed by children.

For years I taught children.

Then one day I realised something.

The children were teaching me.

Every question they asked.

Every idea they explored.

Every tiny moment I almost missed.

Changed the way I saw learning.

Inspired By Children grew from those moments.

My story

It started with paying attention.

I’m Mae.

I’m a teacher from Aotearoa New Zealand.

After working with children across different classrooms, I realised the best ideas rarely began with what adults planned.

They began with something a child noticed.

A question. A conversation. A tower that fell over. A worm after the rain. A shadow on the ground.

I started writing those moments down.

Then I started creating resources that helped other educators notice them too.

That’s how Inspired By Children began.

What we believe

What guides everything we create

Children are already curious.

Our job isn't to create curiosity. It's to notice it.

Learning should feel joyful.

Children learn best when they feel safe, respected and excited to explore.

Small moments matter.

The biggest learning often begins with something easy to miss.

Resources should be useful.

Everything we make is designed to be used in real classrooms.

Real classrooms

Everything is tested in real classrooms.

I don’t create resources behind a desk.

Every idea is tried, changed, improved and simplified while working alongside children.

If it doesn’t work in a real classroom… it doesn’t belong here.

Thank you for being here.
